The story so far

The club was formed in 1904 as Histon Institute F.C. until 1951 when it became Histon F.C. and the nick name "The Stutes" might well have come from the days when Histon played under their old name. In 1962 the ground was re-aligned to make way for the bridge over the now disused railway line. In 1964 a new stand was added to the ground with the flood lights being installed in 1984. The Glass World Stadium has seen further improvements with the new County FA headquarters building, the Red Gate stand adding a further 400 seats. Further work on our ground has seen more seating on the far touch line and extra covered terracing behind both gaol areas. A new 1,800 all seated stand is planned for the Bridge Road End (away fans end).

We reached the Southern League Eastern Division almost 100 years later in the Year 2000, and then in the next seven seasons made the hop to the Southern League Premier (2004), Conference South (2005), and finally the Conference National in 2007 (after narrowly missing out in 2006 when they lost in the play-off final to St Albans 2 0). The 2007/2008 season see us hold our own in the new Blue Square Conference. We finished in a very creditable 7th place, and on the way taking several big name scalps. I think most satisfying was the wins over our neighbours Cambridge United.
